The thing you really need to know is that no matter how much planning you do, you’ll always have to get a little creative and you’ll always run into some kind of challenge, BUT you’ll also always love the final product so much more than you thought you would!The extra storage and functionality that built-ins bring to our home really do make my life better on a daily basis.

So if you’re thinking of taking on the challenge of adding some built-ins to your home, I say go for it!Let’s step back in time together to three and a half years ago when we moved in.Imagine this: Dark blue walls, deep red curtains and weird burnt-yellow shag carpeting.Oh and a little bit of circa-who-knows-when dusty rose wallpaper peeking out from the closet.

That was Kennedy’s room!Believe it or not, she made herself right at home there when we moved in and didn’t make a fuss.

We’re so glad to have been able to finally give her the room of her dreams now though and to have it be something she can really use and enjoy everyday.
